DIY artwork for your home

Artwork can make a BIG impact in your home, but also can be a large investment as well. When I moved into my first home I spent a large amount of money on artwork. Then to get rid of it a few years later when I was bored with it. I realized I rather make my own and it would mean more and be a lot cheaper. I had bought these large floral canvas pieces years ago and decided to paint over them. I am the queen for re-purposing a canvas. I actually had my mom paint a simple circle with texture over the canvas to hang in my Dining room (see picture). I then found some artwork that inspired me to make myself. I had extra frames and a few blank canvas pieces laying around that I decided to paint the canvas and then glue it to a frame to give it more dimension. See the trio set below. Try and think outside the box. Art is always around you. Take a cool picture of architecture like I did from a park in St. Louis that means a lot to us. It brings back memories every time we look at it. See the picture of the hanging light fixture. You can take pictures of scenery and floral and frame them. Make art work your own. You don't have to be an artist to do this.
